I'm Mela, so lovely to meet you!

I'm a travel and wildlife photographer originally from Austria. With my camera always close by, I capture the beauty of wild coastlines, colorful reefs, unique wildlife, and the unforgettable landscapes I discover on my adventures around the world.

This blog is my creative outlet, a space where I share stories, photos, and snapshots that I hope spark your own sense of wonder. I've always loved photographing the world, but I didn't want my images to just sit on a hard drive and collect dust.

That's why I started my photo print project so my photos can bring a little joy into your home and do something meaningful. Every print you purchase helps support nature and wildlife conservation projects, protecting endangered ecosystems, plant species, and animals.

Photography is how I tell these stories, but it's only part of how I want to tell them. My goal is to work with nature conservation aligned brands, magazines, tourism boards, and programs that care about wild places, using imagery and storytelling to drive more attention to the importance of protecting our natural world.

Running has become another way for me to connect with the places I visit and challenge myself. In May I ran my first marathon in Cape Town, in support of the Grootbos Foundation, helping protect the unique Fynbos ecosystem of South Africa's Western Cape. Next up is the Chicago Marathon in October, and beyond that, my goal is to run all eight World Marathon Majors. Every race brings me somewhere new, and every somewhere new brings a new conservation story worth telling.
